Hospice is a special kind of care for patients with a limited life expectancy, and their families.
Hospice care is about quality of life and is holistic and comprehensive in its approach. The goal of hospice care is maximizing comfort for patients rather than recovery or cure, so patients may live as fully and comfortably as possible.

Routine Care

Provided by the hospice team of professionals at the patient’s residence. It may include nursing care, certified home health aides, emotional and spiritual care, social services, and/or volunteer services.

Respite Care

Occasional short term care provided at a contracted skilled nursing facility to temporarily relieve family members or caregiver/s from caregiving duties.

Inpatient Level of Care

Higher level of care provided at a contracted nursing facility when an acute onset of symptoms cannot be managed at the patient’s place of residence.

Continuous Care

Higher level of care provided at the patient’s residence to address a brief period of crisis as defined under the Medicare hospice program.

In addition to the intermittent services of the Hospice Interdisciplinary team, hospice also provides:

A) Medication for pain and symptom management as related to the diagnosis
B) Medical Equipment
C) Oxygen
D) Medical Supplies
